I have started painting the line infantry. I was not that happy with the results for the light infantry so have used a lot more contrast paints when painting these an I am much happier with the final product. No blobby pink faces for starters. 😂

As the British hope to see them, running away. The curled blanket(?) and back pack were also done in contrast paints giving a better result. |
Figures 10mm from Pendraken as is the flag.

33 of 55 Skirmishers 5 units of 11 Completed 60% wow!

3 of 5 Command stands. Completed 60%
You’re making good progress! The curled blanket is actually the greatcoat. Plumes on regimental command was typically white.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan. I will change the command bases to white, thanks for the info.
DeleteNicely done and I think your observation about the problem of pink blob faces is spot on. In places, such as when skin is too pinky, I have started using slightly thinned contrast paint as a wash.
ReplyDeleteThanks Norm. I will try repainting the pink faces with some contrast paint. Thanks for the tip.
DeleteWell they look splendid matey. They soon start to turn into sizeable units at that scale, which makes you feel like you’re making progress. Many more to go?
ReplyDeleteThanks JBM. Only 270 left 😂
DeleteNice work Ben, looks like you are getting the hang of the contrast painting! From memory the four centre compay pompoms are green, orange, blue and lilac....but it's 20+ years since I painted Napoleonic French!
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith. Why do we have the internet when you are available 😁 The internet agrees with you.
DeleteGood looking troops. Forward or backwards.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteKeep up the good work Ben!
ReplyDeleteThanks Captain!
DeleteYou’re really cranking through this project well. Nice job. 😀
ReplyDeleteThanks Stew. Much easier to keep going when you like the results.
