French Napoleonic Part 6.... 54th Line Infantry

Another regiment of line rolls off the painting desk. I seem to be able to paint one regiment a week so hopefully it will all be "over by Christmas"  😂

Thanks to Norm's advice on the last post I have also been able to correct the faces on the light infantry, cavalry and artillery so they are less pink blobby and more detailed.

The only thing that I am not a happy with* is the edges of the flags. I need to go over where the white of the paper edges shows.

* actually one of the many things I am not happy with but the only one I think I can fix. 😁

Here is the glorious 54th

Hopefully I have got the shako pompoms the right colours.

Advancing in two ranks

Viva le Emperor ... charge the perfidious roast beefs

Figures 10mm from Pendraken as is the flag.

  1. More nice work Ben, pompoms look right to me. I generally do the white edge flag painting trick, although occasionally I do forget!

    1. Yes, painting flag edges will improve the look of the standard bearer. Progress continues. Remember, it is mass effect with 10s and not the individual that offers the bang at this scale.

  3. Nicely done. I’m glad you said a week per unit, that feels about right, perhaps even a bit slower for me. I had been getting the impression from some quarters that one can fly through 10mm figures with the old paint brush, but I have never found that to be particularly true ….. I thought I was missing a trick! :-)

I like the progress list - a good. Motivator. Do you think you will put a small game down before the whole project is painted?
