League of Augsburg Allies

I didn't have any Pike and Shot armies and to fill this gaping hole in my collection I decided to invest in a Pendraken 10mm a LOA French army and an Allied Army.

First up the LOA Allies.

Artillery. Left to Right - English, Dutch, and English

Dutch Cavalry

Dutch Dismounted Cavalry or Skirmishers

Danish Cavalry

Danish Dismounted Cavalry or Skirmishers

English Infantry. Two units

Danish Infantry

Dutch infantry

So first off the painting desk for 2025 is 3 guns, 30 cavalry and 120 infantry.

Surprisingly it only took me around 2 weeks to complete using contrast paints.

French to follow.

There is a plan to use these in a campaign - the 1000 year war - that will hopefully begin this year but more likely in 2026 or 2027 at the latest. 🤣

    2. Backdrop is really cool. How do you do this wizardry?

    3. Hi Jonathan, no wizardry just very low tech for muggles.😂
I googled the League of Augsburg for images and found a painting that I copied into word and then printed off. 😊 I am sure there are way easier ways. I did think of just displaying it on a tablet and using that as the back ground but my tablet does not fit in my light box.
I use a small cut off of my grass mat for the base.

    1. I know Stew. absolutely dreadful! I do have a half painted 17th century Swedish army that I bought in the late 70's but it was in 15mm so couldn't be used.

  3. They look very nice Ben...the advantages of 10mm include time required to paint, along with many others!
