A short post on a new unit of mounted infantry for my VSF games.
I have been unhappy with my other mounted rifles as they don't have dismounted bases to use when they enter buildings so decided to try this out. It seems to look OK so I will back fill for any mounted rifle/infantry I already have when I next order from Pendraken. I think it will look much better on the table.

| Dismounted or Mounted down one base of three for each mounted base. I will have these firing at 60% of an infantry base of five. |

| Horses waiting around, one horse for each base plus a couple of guards for colour.. |
My usual "enthusiastic level" of painting.
Hey Ben, those chaps look mighty fine to me. I had the same bug bear with dragoons in my ECW units. You always end up with twice the workload if you want to get these units to look right on the board. Bit of a fiddle but worth it in the end.

DeleteI do like the idea of horse holders etc for these types of units, but in 28mm I am generally too mean to buy them...same with limbers for artillery!
ReplyDeleteAgree for 28mm it is very costly and time consuming to paint and I would not do it either. :)
DeleteBut for 10mm figures the extra $10 for figures and a week to paint is not too bad. I am going to go back and add to all my other mounted rifles units. Although I will re-use the horses :)
