A parade of my French and Dutch Napoleonic armies.
Both have had their bases freshly flocked to make them presentable on any wargamers table!
The French Army was painted in the second half of 2025 while the Dutch were painted in late 2022 or early 2023.
All figures from Pendraken in 10mm

A bird's eye view* of the battlefield. The French force in the foreground are attacking the Dutch across the river who are defending their windmill. * actually one of the Montgolfier brothers.
I have updated my terrain as well. With new streams and rivers and roads that have all been flocked on their edges to blend in better as well as being based on 1mm magnetic adhesive paper. This lies a lot flatter than when thicker material I used before.
I have also made some additional fields and bought some cows and sheep to add for scatter terrain.

Just the Dutch

And the French from overhead

French from their front

Closeup of M. Napoleon surrounded by his favourite things. The Old Guard to the right, the Grenadiers to the left, and the Grand Battery to the front. (and a nice place to sleep behind him)

French from the side

Dutch at an angle

Atmospheric shot of the French through the trees. (Ridley Scott will be quietly jealous)

Now he will be furious.

There is a lot of the little buggers!

Not so many Dutch. Where are the damned British!
When will the British turn up? When will a game of Napoleonic's be played?
Stayed tuned ..... but not soon.
I think we will be going Victorian before we go back to Napoleon. (And maybe fast forward to the 400th century, but nothing is set in stone it is all written in the sands of the desert π)

A fab collection of figures, Ben, I shall look forward to seeing the game....one day?
ReplyDeleteThanks Ray. Hopefully a battle this year. π
DeleteWow wow wow. That whole set up looks tremendous Ben. Some great photos of the little fellas too!
ReplyDeleteThanks JBM!
DeleteQuite a lovely parade, Ben!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jonathan.
DeleteMarvellous looking parade, Ben.
ReplyDeleteThanks Richard.
DeleteGreat to get a parade going and some very nice low level side on shots, very eye catching.
ReplyDeleteI am glad I did it Norm. I do like the low level shots as it seems to make the numbers greater.
DeleteWell, dont they look just splendid, fab terrain to complement them too!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain. I am happy with the terrain although I do need some more scatter terrain for the larger open spaces.
DeleteIn the words, well word of Darth, “Impressive!” Good work on the terrain updates too…
ReplyDeleteThank you Captain!
DeleteHi Ben, Great work on coordinated armies and terrain. Looking forward to a game being played. Ridley Scott would be looking for trenches but he doesnt know anything.
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon. I am happy with how it all is coming together. Poor Ridley, a bit RS with his history π
Deleteyour napoleonic armies/figures look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Phil.
DeleteThat is absolutely sensational Ben; figures, terrain, the whole set-up! Even more so when one remembers how quickly you produced such an array. Sir RS would not be impressed as your miniature version has some verisimilitude; but what would you, or I know?!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, James
Thank you very much James!
DeleteWhat would we know? A lot more than RS! And where are our Knighthoods! π€£
Not sure how I missed this earlier Ben, but better late than never! A fantastic looking array of tiny troops, set off beautifully by some lovely terrain....you just need the British now.... π
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith. You have been too busy touring NZed, painting and gaming to visit my blog π€£
DeleteThe Brits are currently in their underwear (under coated π) So by Christmas..... I promise!
